Project Title

The Impact of Climate Change on Mangrove Forests

What's the most important thing you have learned in Science Research?

The most important thing I learned was how to become more confident and concise when I do presentations.

Project Summary

The topic that I am studying is mangrove forests and how they respond to climate change. Mangroves are tropical trees found along coastlines across the world. They are an incredibly interesting topic to study since the area of these plants is rapidly changing due to different environmental variables. In fact, recent studies show that they are in global decline as a result of climate change and coastal development. Much of this research is being conducted through the use of satellite imagery or conducting experiments in controlled laboratory settings. Monitoring mangrove area is especially important considering how beneficial mangroves are to coastal communities and the environment around them. By knowing what conditions mangroves can thrive in, scientists can better understand how to conserve these valuable forests.
