Project Title

Lunar Geology: Addressing concerns for astronaut safety on Moon excursions

What's the most important thing you have learned in Science Research?

One of the most important things I’ve learned in Science Research is research analysis. I’ve read numerous journal articles and have grown to interpret and organize information more efficiently

Project Summary

I am currently researching the geology of the moon and how radiation doses and moonquakes affect the health of astronauts and Moon landing missions. The Moon is Earth’s only natural satellite. It can teach us a lot about the early Earth and the evolution of small, rocky bodies. Studying the Moon can reveal significant amounts of information about Earth’s origin story as well as human evolution. Analyzing previous missions to the Moon allows scientists to compare methods that contributed to new findings and methods/ materials that can be improved in order to benefit future missions. However, these methods and materials depend on the Moon’s detailed composition, it shapes how scientists and engineers design spaceships and suits. I want to contribute to geological findings on the Moon to help astronauts, engineers, and other scientists efficiently plan lunar missions.
