Video Analysis of ACL, MCL, and PCL Injuries In the NFL
Patrick List MD
I chose science research because it allowed me to follow my passion in science. This allowed me to find a potential career path in the future. The class has allowed me to research and gather new findings on athletes in professional sports. With the help of my teachers and mentor they have prepared me to act and conduct myself as a professional in a field that I’m am completely unaware of as a sophmore in high school.
The NFL is one of the largest sports in the World, athletes in the NFL rely on their bodies to keep them employed and healthy. In professional sports, athletes are held at such a high standard to stay healthy and to not get hurt. In the event the athlete does get hurt he is at risk of losing his job thus not receiving pay. With an injury like a torn ACL, PCL, or MCL the athlete could find themselves rehabbing for over a year. By an athlete being sidelined over that long period, they miss out on opportunities and sometimes a new contract. My idea with this study is to find ways to prevent the athlete from ever having to stop playing by finding ways the body can heal and stay healthy through different methods of chiropractic of physical therapy.
